What began with a turbulent storm out of Dallas quickly became a voyage of transformation. Traveling with our church through Thessaloniki, Meteora, Athens, Corinth, Ephesus, and the Greek Islands, we traced the footsteps of the Apostle Paul (author of much of the New Testament) – not just with our feet, but with our hearts.
Early in the trip, bus rides from Thessaloniki to Meteora, then Meteora to Athens, and Athens to Corinth became sacred spaces. Conversations turned from travel itineraries to testimonies: stories of faith, struggle, and healing. By the time we reached our final night’s celebration, the “storm-to-sweet” theme had come alive.
Along the way, there was laughter and lightheartedness: karaoke on the ship, shared meals, and moments of awe in ancient cities and biblical sites. But there was also restoration. Some travelers found peace. Others felt their faith rekindled after seasons of doubt.
Through it all, the Aegean sun, the fellowship of believers, and God’s Word at the very places it was first proclaimed became a reminder that storms may begin the journey…but sweetness can define the ending.
